BROKEN ARROW TIGERS
BOYS
Coach: Beau Wallace
22-23 Record: 27-2
After a successful campaign last year, head coach Beau Wallace is looking forward to
getting this team back on the court and competing. “The Tigers are coming off a 27-2 state
championship runner-up season, which saw the likes of four senior starters graduating. We
will return one starter and two other players who saw valuable minutes on that team. The
rest of the players are mainly juniors who are talented just inexperienced. However, please
don’t sleep on this group, as they are the same players that pushed last year’s group daily,”
said Wallace. That returning starter is Division I prospect DJ Howell (6-5, Jr.). Howell
averaged 10 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and shot 42 percent from the floor. Howell is
a three-year starter and a team leader at point guard. “DJ led the team from the PG spot to
the best record in school history and a state championship game. He is a player who sees
the floor extremely well and is never sped up by opposing players. He has excelled using his
big frame to see over the defense and has a post of game the is second to none. He will be
called on to score the ball more this year, as that is the next step in his game. He will be a
matchup problem all year for bigger or smaller players because he is so versatile in what he
can do,” said Wallace. Diego Ochoa (6-2, Sr.) is called upon to do a lot of things for the
Tigers. Ochoa averaged 5.5 points, hitting 46 percent from the field. The senior guard is
ready for the opportunity to shine in his own light this season. De’Von Wallace (6-1, Jr.) is
another guard the Tigers will lean on this season. As a sophomore Wallace averaged 3.2
points and was good 51 percent of the time from three-point land. Corban Dow (6-5, So.) is
a young, exciting talent from a talented basketball family. Dow and other like Logan
Shockley (6-5, Jr.), Jailun Talley (6-5, Jr.), and Anton Wallace (6-1, Jr.) will all be called on
this season. Other players to watch include Nyjah Noyes (6-3, Jr.), Ace Clemons (6-6, Sr.),
Jerrhyon Lewis (6-0, Sr.), Alijah Harrison (6-1, Sr.), Immanuel Williams (5-10, Sr.), Israel
Wilson (6-0, Jr.), and Jacob Gardner (6-0, Jr.). Assisting coach Wallace are coaches Keary
King, Chris Wallace, and Mike Humphrey.
