The No. 1 ranked team in Class 6A, the Broken Arrow Lady Tigers, are 12-4 heading into the heart of their schedule.
Lilly Boswell, now a junior, plays setter and right side. She loves playing on this team and loves her teammates.
“My favorite memory playing for Broken Arrow volleyball was winning my eighth grade conference tournament playing outside. I have been playing volleyball since I was twelve,” said Boswell.
The junior said the team has all kinds of personalities. Some keep everyone laughing while some are always serious.
“I think the teammate that keeps everyone laughing is Devine Okon. She makes sure everyone is having a good time, all the time and I think the most serious is Grace Marshall. She wants to make sure everyone stays focused and win,” said Boswell.
From the facilities to the teachers, Boswell believes BAHS is the best place to be a student-athlete.
“BAHS has some of the best facilities and the teachers and staff are very accommodating of my absence due to my sport. My favorite subject in school has always been math, my favorite teacher I’ve ever had has to be Mrs. Wilson. My favorite place to play is at our home gym but my favorite opponent is Jenks,” said Boswell.
To prepare for competition, Boswell said likes to say a prayer and talk to her teammates to make sure everyone has the confidence and focus they need to win. She said the best advice she’s received is leaving the past in the past.
“The best advice I have ever received is to leave the past behind me and to not trip over it.”
Boswell’s goal in life is to have a fulfilled life and go to college to play volleyball.
