Caleb Lamb got the season started in a true Tiger fashion. His second place finish at his home meet set the tone for himself and his teammates. Lamb crossed the line with a time of 8:04.9, with his teammates not far behind. Aaron Tompkins, Carson Strickland, Matt Martin, Josiah Pickup, and Julian Powers all grabbed top ten finishes. Ryan Mays and Caiden Marshall were just outside the top ten with tremendous runs of their own.
Lamb and the team followed up their defense of the home turf on the road to Tahlequah where Lamb grabbed 2nd place in the 5k with Powers taking 3rd. Lamb finished the race with a time of 16:35.62 and Powers clocked a 16:49.87.
Strickland, Tompkins, and Martin all placed as well, 9th, 10th, and 11th respectively. As a team, the Tigers took him 1st place with an average time of 17:20.69. No other team came close to that time as a team.
During the Ram Relays, the Tigers placed 3rd as a team with seniors Matt Martin, Aaron Tompkins, Josiah Pickup, and sophomore Carson Strickland manning the team. The 6-mile relay is a tough event, but everyone enjoys participating in what is a unique cross country run.
The team will set their sights on September 21st at Edmond and the September 28th OSU Cowboy Jamboree.
