VYPE: Jaxon, what grade are you in and when did you start participating in cheer?
Jaxon Roop: I am in 11th grade, and I first started cheering in 9th grade.

VYPE: Have you been impressed with a teammate this season or have a former teammate who left an impression on you?
JR: I have been so impressed with my team’s work ethic but someone who has pushed themselves and continues to work hard for their team would be my friend Halle Hogan. She goes above and beyond and continues to show up even if she hasn’t had the best day! 

VYPE: Which teammate keeps everyone laughing, who is the most serious?
JR: I feel like we all keep a smile on each other’s faces, and I also feel like we know when to be serious and focus on our sport!

VYPE: What is your favorite memory or moment as a player for BA?
JR: My favorite memory since joining BA cheer was winning UCA my sophomore year and state my junior year! 

VYPE: What is your favorite subject to study?
JR: My favorite subject in school is math.

VYPE: What makes BAHS a great place for you as a student-athlete?
JR: As a student-athlete, I enjoy how my coaches always keep me accountable for my schoolwork and make sure I know that school comes first. My teachers are also really good about being flexible and understanding with assignments.

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?
JR: I like to pray and listen to worship music with my team! I love talking to my team before we go on and hyping each other up!

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
JR: I love my team’s personality this year!! I also enjoy how close we all are. I feel like there aren’t many cliques within the team which helps build a stronger bond.

VYPE: What’s the goal for life after high school?
JR: I would love to continue cheering in college as well as continue my academics at the University of Arkansas!

VYPE: Bonus questions – Who inspires you and why?
JR: People who inspire me are my coaches because of how devoted they are to our team and always do what is best for us.
