Everyone plays a role on a team. Obviously, you need players to play and coaches to coach.
But someone needs to manage the team. Make sure the lineups are ready and that the team has everything it needs to be successful on the field. That’s where someone like Rose Box is so important to the overall success of the program. Box served as manager for coach King and the Lady Tigers softball team this fall, and she said it’s been a great experience.

“I have loved getting closer with the coaches. I love getting to see the sport from a managers/coach’s perspective. It’s very different than being on the field and it is very interesting learning about what all goes on off the field,” said Box.

A former player herself, Box is now a senior, but she spent her sophomore and junior year
on the field. That gave her a unique perspective and allowed her to understand what the
players and coaches experience throughout the course of a game and season.

“The connections I have made, the girls are very genuine, and I know I can count on them
for anything. My favorite memory so far this season has been going to State. The energy is
unreal, and it is not like anything you can get anywhere else. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind
experience,” said Box.

Box, who is a member of STUCO, Senior Spirit Officer, National Honor Society, Senior Board,
and serves as an Ambassador in the Girl Scouts, said the work in the classroom is just as
important.

“My favorite subject in school would have to be math. My favorite teacher is my leadership
teacher Mr. Taylor Thompson as he is always there to listen and help with anything I may
need. I plan to attend college at Oklahoma State University and major in Sports
Management,” said Box.

The senior said her mother has been a big influence in her life.
“My mom has been a big influence in my life as she has always pushed me to be the best
version of myself.
Away from school, Box said she enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
