VYPE: How did your season turn out and what were your goals?
Emily: My season was very good, my team had a great year and we got somewhere where no one thought we could and that was a big achievement! One of my goals this year was to win a state title which we fell short but had a great year!
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Emily: The Best time of this year is when we went to Joplin for a tournament and we got to go to Silver Dollar City and spend time with my team and everyone was getting along and I had my first 2 home runs in Joplin and everyone was having a great tournament!
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Emily: My favorite teacher was my English teacher from my freshman year, Ms. Lotspeich. She was very understanding, she explained things very well and she had fun with her students and always had a smile on her face!
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Emily: My favorite athletic memory is when we were in the semifinals in Regionals against Sand Springs and my first at bat of the game I hit the first pitch and one hopped the fence and got a double. My third at bat I hit a home run and everyone was screaming and so excited. I had a great defensive game too!
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Emily: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is one of our seniors Presley Cole. I love Presley so much she played second base with me this year and has always pushed me since I was a freshman. During Regionals and State Presley and I were playing very strong defense and talking to each other and communicating very well. I will miss Presley so much!
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Emily: My favorite part about being on the team is that every practice we take seriously but everyone has fun and gets along. When we’re practicing we’re very loose and love playing the game!
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Emily: For my Summer vacation I would go to Bora Bora with my best friend Hannah Jones. Hannah and I have known each other since Kindergarten and we’re with each other almost every day and we know everything about each other and we’re literally like sisters!
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing softball?
Emily: I first started playing when I was 7 years old! I remember I was sitting on my couch with my Dad and we were watching softball on the T.V. and I was watching how much fun the girls on T.V. we were having and I told my Dad I wanted to play softball! The girl who started me with softball is like my older sister, Grace Jarvis. Gracie used to play for Broken Arrow Softball and is now playing at Tulsa University for her last year!
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Emily: I would like to say hello to everyone who is reading this, and who has supported me through everything and who watches me play! Thank you to my parents and all of my coaches. Thank you for spending time with me and making me a better player all the way around. Thank you so much to my Dad who got me to where I am and spending everyday with me putting the work in, even when we may not get along all the time it’s tough love and thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you Mom for getting me into all these camps I’m in and being the best mom ever!
