Broken Arrow senior Kinslee Cottner approaches every opportunity on the softball field with a competitive edge and a willingness to help the Lady Tigers wherever she is needed.
Cottner pitches and plays third base for Broken Arrow, embracing the challenge of contributing in multiple roles. Whether she is in the circle, at the corner or in the batter’s box, Cottner’s focus remains on doing what is best for her team.
“The strength of my game is that anytime I’m on the field I have a winning mentality that no one is going to beat me and something I could improve is hitting line drives consistently,” Cottner said.
That mentality fits within a Broken Arrow program she values for more than just its on-field success. Cottner said the connection among her teammates has made her high school experience especially meaningful.
“What I love most about my teammates at Broken Arrow is the family relationship we all have!” Cottner said.
Cottner has learned that a united group is essential during the long stretches of a softball season. She believes the Lady Tigers must stay connected as they chase their goals together.
“I learned that we all need to stick together through the whole season to achieve our goal,” Cottner said.
As a senior, Cottner is excited about the chance to make a deep run with her teammates. She also credits her parents for setting an example that motivates her to pursue success in athletics and beyond.
“My parents inspire me because I see their success and want to succeed as well,” Cottner said.
Away from softball, Cottner is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to continue playing softball in college while working toward a career in medicine.
“I will be playing softball in college and become a pediatrician,” Cottner said.
For now, Cottner remains focused on helping Broken Arrow compete, bringing confidence, versatility and a team-first attitude to every game.
