Broken Arrow’s Olivia Weiner 

Serving as an officer for the Broken Arrow High School FFA chapter, Olivia Weiner said what makes FFA great is the people you meet while enjoying the shared experience of FFA life.

“I enjoy most in FFA getting to meet new people and make so many connections with people all over Oklahoma, and even across the U.S.,” said Weiner. “Being an officer is the biggest part of my activities, and I try to stay heavily involved.”

It was her mother who brought FFA to her attention and Weiner took it from there.

“I first got involved in FFA freshman year, by filling it out on my enrollment card in 8th grade. I got involved because my mom saw a post on Facebook, about FFA, and I knew then that I wanted to be involved with animals, and the community of agriculture,” said Weiner.

 As an active member Weiner is involved in CDE events with Agricultural Communication, Wildlife, and Cattle Grading, all while serving as an officer.  

“I do not currently show any animals, but I do have chickens! I hatched them in September, I have been a mother hen since,” said Weiner.

 Also a member of National Honor Society, and FCCLA, Weiner said FFA has something to offer everyone.

“FFA is for everyone! Do what you can, experience what you can, and most importantly, ask questions! FFA is the future of our community, and we are always striving to better our communities. There are so many opportunities, and everyone has them,” said Weiner.

 The junior plans to attend Tulsa Tech next year and graduate with her EMT as she works toward her goal of becoming a firefighter.

“My plans for life after high school are to become a firefighter, have chickens and lots of animals on a farm.”
