A Few Laps with Broken Arrow’s Max Bello – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: What goals did you have for this year in swimming?

Max Bello: This year I want to accomplish making a sectional cut.

VYPE: What has swimming taught you that you use in your daily life?

MB: Swimming has taught me that the effort you put in, affects the results you get in return.

VYPE: What’s your favorite part of being a swimmer?

MB: My favorite part about being a swimmer is being able to have the water as a second home and safe space for me to just let go, relax, and have a good time.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

MB: Caleb Dressel inspires me because he just seems to always love what he does in and out of the water, and he just really appreciates life.

VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in swimming?

MB: The biggest challenge as a swimmer is probably having no time off and having to sacrifice things that you love for your training and meets.

VYPE: What do you think makes a great swimmer?

MB: I think something that makes a great swimmer depends on how coachable you are and the effort you are willing to put in.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.

MB: No one else in my family participated in sports, so I believe I’m the best athlete in the family.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?

MB: I wish I could play soccer. I did it for a while when I was younger, and I loved it until I started swimming!

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?

MB: My go-to pregame song is “Can You Hear The Music” by Ludwig Goransson.
