VYPE: Lily, what was one of the biggest surprises for you this softball season?
Lily Blaylock: One of the biggest surprises this season was getting recognized as an All-District 6A catcher. I always focus on giving everything I have for my team, so earning that honor for my hard work was really special.
VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
LB: What I love most about my team and teammates is we bond on and off the field. We support each other wins every play, every at bat, we’re ready to work and compete but have fun doing it.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
LB: My inspiration Joshua 1:9. Gods presence is constant, and my mom inspires me to be better than I was yesterday. Her words, “go be great in your own way,” she reminds me to stay true to myself and work hard for what I want.
VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what did you improve on the most this season?
LB: My strength is speaking up and encouraging my teammates to be confident. What I’m working on is being louder and more vocal on the field.
VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
LB: I don’t know my favorite subject is, I like lunch. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Pratt from freshman academy BA.
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
LB: Most vocal, I would say myself. The funniest, I would say Aryanna Caesar and Kenya Harp.
VYPE: Which former teammate left an impression on you?
LB: The person who left the biggest impression on me was Taylor Clay. She introduced me to a lot people when I was a freshman and made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the start.
VYPE: What clubs or groups are you involved in at or away from school?
LB: Tulsa Shootout Nationals, my competitive softball team.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing during your time off?
LB: In my time off, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family.
