Broken Arrow’s Kaci Denny

Student-athletes spend much of their time in the offseason training and working out. Kaci Denny of Broken Arrow High School is a varsity softball player and someone who knows the benefits of being physically prepared for the upcoming season.

“In the offseason, I think I’ve improved the most on strength training. The workouts we do as a team really helps develop the power needed to excel on the field, especially at the plate for hitting,” said Denny.

Despite not playing on a travel team this year, Denny was able to find some ways to keep her busy throughout the summer.

“Growing up, summer travel ball was all I ever knew. I played on travel teams up until my sophomore year, when I decided to make the tough decision to commit only to school ball as I explored new things in life such as getting my first job and taking on more challenging and time-consuming high school classes,” said Denny.

Being part of the BAHS varsity team is something Denny loves and appreciates.

“Something I love the most about my team is the sisterhood we have built over the years. After playing with most of these girls since the 7th or 8th grade, they truly have felt like my own sisters. And even taking in new underclassmen each year, I feel that the team is very strong in growing team chemistry and bonding very quickly,” said Denny.

When her playing days come to an end at BAHS, Denny plans to attend college.
 “After I graduate, I plan to continue my education at a two-year college and then return back to Tulsa Tech and get my license as a radiologist technician. I have been attending Tulsa Tech this past year and will be earning my CNA license next semester through Tech as well! I have had the best experience as a student at Tulsa Tech, as well as BAHS,” said Denny.
