Evan Rodriguez is a senior this year at Broken Arrow High School and a member of them varsity wrestling team.
Rodriguez will likely wrestle at 132-pounds this season and he’s looking forward to taking the mat with one goal in mind.
“My goal this season is to win a state title,” said Rodriguez.
Representing the Tigers on the mat is something special to Rodriguez and his teammates. This group is a close group, and they are hungry for wins.
“We are so tight and push each other to be the best we can,” said Rodriguez. Rodriguez said wrestling was the sport for him because it pushes you to your limits and teaches you lessons you will use throughout your life. “What I love about wrestling is it helps you become a better person in the long run,” said Rodriguez.
The senior said Broken Arrow has the best coaching staff and that coach Kyle Driscoll pushes them the hardest.
Once this season is over, Rodriguez will turn his focus on graduation and preparing for college. Rodriguez said he would like to wrestle in college. Rodriguez said math is his favorite subject and at BAHS his favorite teacher is Mr. Kennedy.
