On the Broken Arrow High School softball team, Jordyn Davis shines as a player who embodies resilience, leadership and a fierce determination to succeed.
Davis had a coach truly make an impact on her; someone she will never forget. “My favorite coach throughout the years will have to be Coach A,β she said. βShe’s been my coach since junior high and has helped me mature as a player and person. I know I have her in my corner for life, and I’m so thankful for her!”
Davis is quick to acknowledge the entire coaching staff at Broken Arrow High School, expressing gratitude for their guidance and support. “Our whole coaching staff here at BA is great all over the board,” she said. “We are blessed to have such great coaches.”
Teammates play a crucial role in any athlete’s journey, and for Davis, Emma Trine, a former senior, stands out as an admirable figure. “She showed me what kind of leader I wanted to be for our younger classmen this year because she was such a good leader and teammate to me,” Davis said.
Beyond the diamond, a teacher can make a significant impact on a student’s life. For Davis, that teacher is Coach Whitmere. “He always listened to us talk about softball or anything in our lives,” she shared. “His outlook on life is something extremely special.”
The sport of softball has imparted invaluable life lessons to Davis. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how to face and overcome adversity,” she reflected. “Learning how to thrive in pressure situations is something that will stick with me for a lifetime.”
As she looks ahead to the current season, Davis’ goals are clear. “Our team’s goal is to win a state championship, and personally, I want to have the best senior season I can,” she stated.
One matchup Davis eagerly anticipates is their game against Southmoore. “I’m excited for some redemption,” she said.
After high school, Davis plans to continue her softball journey at Missouri S&T, where her passion for the sport and her commitment to success will undoubtedly shine on a new stage.
