Audra Payton commits much of her time to the Broken Arrow High School softball program.
The President of the Broken Arrow Softball Booster Club is also the mother to three student athletes, including Broken Arrow junior softball player Aliya Scarborough. Memphys Scarborough is in third grade and also plays softball, and Mason Scarborough is in pre-k and is involved in football, baseball and basketball.
Audra also volunteers for event planning and fundraising for other organizations and church.
“Parent involvement is so important to shape our children and teach them that the more involved we are in our community, the bigger impact they will have on society,” Audra said. “It’s also important as parents to be involved to see what kinds of challenges our children are facing so that we can guide them into making the best decisions for them, their family, and their community.”
Audra likes to volunteer because she likes to give.
“I have always been the type of person that loves to give. It makes my heart happy to see other people benefit from the activities I invest time in,” she said. “As cliche as it sounds, the smiles on their faces are truly priceless!”
The Scarborough family enjoys doing a variety of activities away from the daily grind of sports.
“We enjoy spending time with each other, fishing, going on impromptu trips to the beach, watching sports, car shows, and riding the Harley,” Audra said.
