9 Questions with BA Softball Player Taylor Clay – Presented by RibCrib

Taylor Clay

Broken Arrow High School

VYPE: Taylor, your junior season and school year is almost over. The BA softball team has played great this season. What are your thoughts on the team as we head into May?

Clay: The team is looking amazing so far this season. We are 28-0. And hope to continue this undefeated record and win state next Tuesday.

VYPE: How is the chemistry this season?

Clay: I love how we can get in a disagreement off the field, but on the field, we play as a family no matter what.

VYPE: Who has really impressed you this season?

Clay: The teammate who impresses me the most is Emily Evans. She is my best friend and my middle infield duo. We have played up the middle together since freshman year and have batted leadoff and 2-hole. She always helps keep me positive and talks me through my rough patches.

VYPE: Is that what makes going to BAHS special for you?

Clay: I love going to school with my best friends and going to softball at the end of the day.

VYPE: How long have you played softball?

Clay: I have played for the school since 7th grade and have started on varsity since freshman year. I have been playing softball in general since I was five or six years old.

VYPE: Does that leave time for anything else?

Clay: I don’t do any extra clubs for the school. In my free time, which is not very common, my family and I love to go to the lake and either kayak or go on the boat with my parents’ best friends.

VYPE: Any favorite memories from this season you would like to share?

Clay: My favorite memory at BAHS is just hanging out with my friends that I’ve met here.

VYPE: What about life after high school? Any plans yet?

Clay: I don’t think anyone my age truly knows what they want to do after high school at this age. What I do know is I want to visit great places with great people and create memories that will last a lifetime. I just need to figure out what career path allows the flexibility to do so.

VYPE: Surely, you’re making some summer plans?

Clay: My plan for the summer is to play softball with my travel team, summer workouts with school ball, and go to the lake as much as I can.
