VYPE: Kadence, what grade are you in this year?
Roop: I am a senior this year.
VYPE: How long have you been involved in wrestling?
Roop: This is my sixth year of wrestling.
VYPE: What do you love most about the sport?
Roop: I love the mental aspect and how it’s a you versus you battle, and you can’t point fingers blame someone else. There is no one but yourself to blame.
VYPE: Tell me what you love most about your team and teammates?
Roop: I love that we get along and how close we are as a family.
VYPE: What are you looking forward to the most this season or what is your goal?
Roop: My goal is to be the 2024 6A 150-pound state champion.
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Roop: To attend college for wrestling and then make my way into chiropractic school.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to be a BA student athlete?
Roop: Show others that it is possible and that hard work beats talent.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school, and do you have a favorite teacher?
Roop: I’m a big fan of math but I do not have a favorite teacher.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life?
Roop: Kyle Driscoll has made the biggest impact on this year and season. He is one of the most straight forward guys and has pushed me and I couldn’t be more thankful.
